Lavanya Mani


Lavanya Mani (b.1977), studied Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Baroda (MFA). Mani is one of the new age women artists in India, who skilfully negotiates the postmodern dilemmas in her works, addressing a much-debated colonial history from an elevated field of multi-cultural give and take. Over the last few years, Mani has been working with various techniques associated with textiles such as embroidery, tie and dye, appliqué, batik etc. in conjunction with painting. Mani’s works have been presented in exhibitions in India and abroad.

The artist lives and works in Vadodara.
