Sumakshi Singh


Sumakshi Singh was born in New Delhi in 1980. She pursued Bachelors in Fine Arts from Maharaja Sayajiro University, Baroda, India and received an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). Singh completed an artist residency at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine in 2003. Her important solo exhibitions include: “Circumferences Reforming: Peel till they Bloom”, TRIAD, Miami (2012), “Backstage: Onscreen”, solo project for Art Hong Kong (2012), “Animated Suspension: Halfway Here”, Religare Art, New Delhi (2011), “Mapping the Memory Mandala“, Camargo Foundation, France (2008). Sumakshi was awarded the ROLEX Mentor Protégé award finalist, with Olafur Eliasson in 2014.
