GR Iranna born in 1970, Sindgi, Bijapur, Karnataka, is a mixed media artist who works in the mediums of painting, sculpture and videos. He received his initial art education at the College of Visual Arts, Gulbarga, Karnataka and when on to earn his Master of Fine Arts (Painting) from the College of Art, New Delhi.

There is a philosophical tinge to each of his works, which explore and go beyond the time and space boundaries. He shines a light on the innerness of man and the existential crisis which has encroached upon modern life. Iranna uses the idealistic, representative and modernist language of Indian contemporary art, adding a dynamic energy which surfaces in his work.

The artist lives and works in New Delhi.
