Anita Dube was born in 1958 in Lucknow. She did her in Bachelors in History from University of Delhi and her Masters in Art History (Art Criticism) from MS University, Vadodara.

Her important solo exhibitions include: Chance Pieces (2013) at Nature Morte, Berlin; Anita Dube (2012) at Gallery Marabini, Bologna; Babel: New Works by Anita Dube (2011) at Galerie Dominique Fiat, Paris; Phantoms of Liberty (2007) at Gallerie Almine Rech, Paris; The Sleep of Reason (2003) at Sakshi Gallery, Mumbai, and Nature Morte, Delhi.

Her important participations include: Kochi-Muziris Biennale 2012 (2012-13), Kochi; Crossroads : India Escalate (2011), India Pavilion at Prague Biennale 5; Paris-Delhi-Bombay (2011), Centre Pompidou, Paris; Urban Manners 2 (2010), SESC Pompeia, Sao Paulo, Brazil; The Audience and the Eavesdropper: New Art from India and Pakistan (2008-09), Phillips de Pury & Company, London and New York; iCon: India Contemporary (2005), Venice Biennale, Venice; 7th Havana Biennial (2000), Havana, Cuba.

The artist lives and works in New Delhi.
