Video Wednesdays @ Gallery Espace was a year-long video art program conceptualized and curated by JohnyML in 2008. Following the simple rule of talkies changing movies on weekends, the curator devised a program for screening selected video art works by Indian contemporary artists from all over the country on the last Wednesday of every month. This project took shape against the popular belief that India did not have enough video artists to claim of its own. JohnyML could showcase around ninety four video works by around sixty artists during this period. For the grand finale of the project, JohnyML invited five guest curators namely, Gayatri Sinha, Nancy Adajania, Bose Krishnamachari and Arshiya Lokhandwala to curate special sections. The Open Forum conducted on Video art during the grand finale of the project was a major discursive platform for Indian video art. Gayatri Sinha curated the second part of the Video Wednesdays @ Gallery Espace.
