J.P Gangooly


Born in 1876 at Jorasanko House, J.P Gangooly belonged to the eminent Tagore family. After his home tutoring years, Gangooly studied at the City Collegiate School and later at the Metropolitan Institution at Calcutta. He belonged to the Bengal School of artists. J.P Gangooly was primarily a landscape artist and he worked only with the oil medium. He later became Vice-President of the Calcutta Government Art School.
